If you're exploring Phoenix area breweries, Lake Pleasant Brewing Co is a solid stop - especially if you like the combo of craft beer and a fun, lively atmosphere.

Located in the Glendale area close to Lake Pleasant, the brewery has a nice, relaxed neighborhood vibe with a tap list that is clearly into bold beers and unique sours. It is a family-owned brewery started by friends, who were brewing together years earlier while working corporate jobs. What started as a fun hobby quickly turned into a bigger dream: opening a brewery where people could gather, relax, and connect over great tasting beer.

Their goal was to create a welcoming space where friends, families, and even strangers can grab a pint and feel at home - a goal they fully achieved in my opinion.

When we visited, the vibe matched that mission perfectly - casual, friendly, and the kind of brewery where you can settle in for a couple beers and hang out with your friends for a while.

What's On Tap?

Beer taps

Lake Pleasant Brewing keeps a strong lineup of their beers on tap, with everything from IPAs and lagers to dark beers and sours.

If you’re looking for the sours like me, a couple on the menu when we visited, definitely stood out.

Sour to Try - if it's around:

Sour

B.O.S.S. (Fruited Sour) – At 5.5% ABV, it's a blood-orange flavor with a tart finish! Not my favorite of sours, but I'm not usually big on the citrus. Could be a winner for someone into those!

Food Finds

Lake Pleasant Brewing doesn’t have a full kitchen, but they host food trucks, which keeps the food options fresh, interesting and different, depending on when you visit.

You’ll typically find trucks serving things like:

  • BBQ

  • tacos and street food

  • burgers and comfort food

The schedule rotates, so check out their Beer / Food / Events page before heading over to see what you’ll find parked outside that day.

The food truck setup works well here - grab a pint inside, order food outside, and settle in on the patio while everything comes together. An Arizona patio in late February with a delicious pint is a perfect combination.

The Vibe Inside & Out

The vibe here is relaxed and community-focused. There were a few girl scouts selling cookies when I visited!

Inside you’ll find:

  • a large open taproom with bar seating and tons of tables

  • Large TVs for catching the days’ games

  • a perfectly casual space that works well for groups

They also host events, beer releases, and occasional live entertainment, which would be fun to get back there for! Overall it feels like a true community brewery - the kind of place locals come back to every week.

Dog Friendly Details:

If you're traveling with your pup, they are welcome on the patio. Sadly, even without an on-site kitchen, they aren’t allowed inside. Luckily it’s AZ and being limited to the patio isn’t really a bad thing! It makes this an easy stop if you're brewery hopping around the north Phoenix / Glendale area with your dog.

Insider Info

  • Best time to visit: Late afternoon or early evening when the taproom starts filling up.

  • Parking: Plenty of free parking available in the lot.

Merch:  If you like brewery swag, definitely take a look at the merch area before you leave. They had a surprisingly large selection - everything from hats and shirts to other fun branded gear.

To-Go selection

Lake Pleasant Brewing Co is a laid-back brewery that focuses on what matters most - good beer and good company.

Between the rotating taps, sours like B.O.S.S., and food trucks, it’s an easy place to relax for an evening. If you're exploring Phoenix area breweries, this one is worth adding to your list if you're going to be in the general area. Not necessarily one I would travel out of your way for.
