Fate Brewing Company might just be one of those spots you stumble on, take a sip, and then quickly add to your “must-return” list. With small-town neighborhood vibes, a sun-friendly patio (especially nice in January!), and a lineup of drink options that keeps you on your toes with each visit, it’s easy to see why locals and tourists keep coming back.

What's On Tap?

Beer taps

Let's be honest - when a brewery gives you three sour options, that’s a great decision problem to have. When indecision strikes, you do what any sour beer lover does: you taste them all.

Notable Taps to Try:

Sour

Single Hop Sour at 4% ABV was the first sour I tried, and it set the tone right away. Clean, crisp, and perfectly tart, it was wonderfully balanced without being too overpowering. A great example of a sour that lets the flavor shine while still delivering that tart finish.

our

Cran-Apple Sparkle was a bit stronger at 6% ABV. This one surprised me, I wasn't sure what to expect as it sounded like a juice I've picked up from the grocery store in the past. It had a bit more carbonation than I’m used to in a sour, but it worked. The cranberry really stood out (imagine that - cranberry actually tasting like cranberry), and the apple balanced it perfectly. Had we stayed longer, this absolutely would’ve earned a second round.

Tart Side of the Moon – 4% ABV. Last but not least was Tart Side of the Moon. This one was familiar - I had it on our visit last year - and it was actually one of the reasons Fate made it back onto our must visit list this time around. Raspberry, light, and super drinkable, it didn’t disappoint and lived up to its memory. If anything, it confirmed that some sours are worth revisiting.

Food Finds

Last year’s stop was drinks only, but this time we added food to the mix - and I’m glad we did. Fate’s menu has plenty of options, but somehow both me and my other half landed on the French dip… totally worth it.

It was hearty, flavorful, and paired perfectly with our drinks. That being said, there were more than a few other menu items that caught my eye, so there’s a good chance future visits will involve a little more menu sampling.

The Vibe Inside & Out

I really love the atmosphere at Fate. Maybe it’s the patio in January (a luxury we Minnesotans don’t take lightly), or maybe it’s just the comfortable, welcoming vibe of the place - but it works. Inside and out, it feels relaxed and inviting, and both visits we’ve had here have been genuinely enjoyable.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for a longer meal and evening out, Fate Brewing Company feels like a place that encourages you to stay awhile.

Dog Friendly Details:

If you’re traveling with a pup - or just like to know what your options are - Fate Brewing is dog-friendly on the patio only. Because they have a full kitchen, dogs aren’t allowed inside, but the outdoor seating and patio heaters makes it easy to still enjoy a visit with your four-legged companion any time of year.

The patio is a great spot to settle in, enjoy a beer, and let your dog hang out right next to you.
