Phantom Fox Beer Co has officially made its way onto my “return visit” brewery list.
Our first stop here was March, 2025, and after that visit it quickly became one of those places I wanted to come back to the next time we were in Arizona. Sure enough, we made it back again and it was just as enjoyable the second time around. Located right on Main Street in Downtown Mesa, Phantom Fox sits in a great little stretch of the city that’s perfect for brewery hopping. There are several other breweries within walking distance, which makes the area a really fun place to spend an afternoon, especially when the Arizona weather cooperates.

Phantom Fox itself was created as a community-focused craft brewery, with the goal of bringing people together around good beer and conversation. The taproom has a cozy, welcoming feel that fits perfectly with that concept. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, just a comfortable place to grab a drink and hang out for a while.
What's On Tap?

Phantom Fox keeps a rotating selection of house beers on tap, with a mix of styles and creative releases.
If you’ve followed TappedIn for a while, you know I’m always on the lookout for good sour beers, and Phantom Fox delivered on that front, they also had a tasty cider.

Their sour option was easily the highlight for me - though I'm embarrassed to say, I forgot to note the name of it! BUT, it was fruity. It’s one of the reasons the brewery stuck in my mind after the first visit and why I was excited to come back.
Between the rotating taps and seasonal releases, the lineup usually offers enough variety that everyone in your group can find something they enjoy.

Food Finds
Another big plus here is the pizza counter from Goat & Ram, located right inside the brewery.
It’s not uncommon for breweries to have food trucks or outside vendors, but having a dedicated pizza spot built right into the taproom makes things easy.
The pizza is perfect with beer and makes Phantom Fox an even better place to settle in for a while rather than just stopping in for a quick drink.

Food Score: 4/5
The Vibe Inside & Out
The overall atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming, a place that feels comfortable whether you’re visiting for the first time or coming back for another round.
The taproom has a cozy layout, while the surrounding area of Downtown Mesa adds to the experience. With multiple breweries within walking distance, the neighborhood has become a great little craft beer pocket in the Phoenix metro area.
On a nice Arizona afternoon, it’s easy to hop between a few spots along Main Street, making Phantom Fox one of the stops along the way.
