Verde Brewing Co might be one of the most unexpected brewery stops we made while in Arizona. It’s tucked away in what feels like a desert industrial area outside Camp Verde, the kind of place you’d probably drive past without realizing there’s a brewery inside.
This brewery was founded in 2013 through a Kickstarter campaign to purchase brewing equipment and bring craft beer to the Verde Valley.
Now, over 10 years later, the family-run brewery has brewed hundreds of beers and built a reputation for tasty craft brews and a welcoming atmosphere.
What stood out the most during our visit? The people. The staff here were incredibly friendly and made the whole experience feel genuine.
It’s definitely not the polished, upscale brewery vibe you find in big metro areas - and honestly, that’s the part I liked most.
What's On Tap?

Verde Brewing typically keeps a dozen house beers on tap, brewed right on site. The lineup includes a mix of lagers, IPAs, and specialty releases.

But the standout for me was their Watermelon Sour, of course. At 5%ABV
This one was exactly what I wanted from a fruit-forward sour - refreshing, and super tasty. The watermelon flavor comes through without being overly sweet, and the tart finish keeps it perfectly crisp.
It was good enough that I ended up ordering a second one before continuing on our journey.
If you enjoy lighter, refreshing sours, this one is definitely worth trying.
Drink Score: 4/5
Food Finds
Verde Brewing also serves food, which I found surprising, considering it's remote-feeling location.
Their menu has:
nachos (including BBQ and elote-style options)
sandwiches
hot dogs
appetizers
It’s straightforward food, but it pairs well with the beers and gives you something to snack on while hanging out.

Food Score: 3.5/5
The Vibe Inside & Out
The space itself is simple and unpretentious - very much a place for the locals, type of bar.
You'll notice:
an industrial feel
a relaxed bar area
a shaded beer garden patio outside

The brewery focuses on being family-friendly and community-oriented, which shows in the laid-back vibe once you’ve gotten past the parking lot.
It feels less like a destination brewery built for tourism and more like a place locals regularly stop in for a pint.
Vibe Score: 2.5/5

Dog Friendly Details:
Good news if you’re traveling with your pup - the beer garden patio is dog friendly and pretty big, so it's a nice stop if you’re exploring the Verde Valley area.
Score: 3/5
Practical Tips

Don’t judge the location too quickly. The brewery sits in an dusty industrial area, but it’s worth pulling in.
Try the Watermelon Sour. If it’s on tap, it’s easily one of the most refreshing beers on their list.
Good stop between destinations. Camp Verde sits between several northern Arizona attractions, making this a great break if you're exploring the area.
Tapped In Takeaway

Verde Brewing Co might not be flashy, but it’s one of those places where the beer and the people make the experience. Between the welcoming staff, solid beer lineup, and the excellent Watermelon Sour, it turned out to be one of the more memorable brewery stops in the Valley. If you're passing through Camp Verde, it's definitely worth pulling off the highway for a pint.
Final Score: 3.5/5
