After a quick stop at the Coors Brewery in Golden, I needed something a little more “my style,” and New Terrain Brewing Co. definitely delivered. Situated at the base of North Table Mountain, this brewery impressed with the unique vibe, location, and attention to detail. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, it was clear this was going to be another highlight of the Colorado brewery tour.
Small-batch brewing, which New Terrain is, means the menu rotates often, which keeps it a new adventure with each trip.
WHAT'S ON TAP?

For sour fans, New Terrain is a winner. I started with a pint from their Terra Firma Sour Series, a fruited sour brewed with a touch of yogurt. The peach, apricot, and lemon blend gave a creamy, tangy, balanced flavor.
I also tried a can from their Forbidden Isle series—the POG (Passionfruit, Orange, Guava). Tropical, summery, and my favorite blend of flavors, it was a perfect complement to the mountain scenery. Fun fact: the tropical flavor combo came from a jam the brewers sampled at a craft beer conference!

Sour Score: 4/5
FOOD FINDS
New Terrain doesn’t have a kitchen, but as with many breweries, rotating food trucks provide plenty of options. Their schedule is posted online so you can plan ahead if you want to grab a bite. During our visit, a rainstorm and mid-day timing meant we didn’t eat, but the outdoor setup looked inviting and ready for an enjoyable lunch or dinner.
Food Score: Unable to rate since we didn't order anything from the truck on site

THE VIBE INSIDE & OUT
New Terrain has a true Colorado feel with huge windows, simple, modern interior, and an indoor-outdoor seating option that lets you take in the surrounding mountain views. The patio is wide and open, perfect for rainy or sunny days, and the brewery backs right up to the Table Mountain trails, which makes it a popular stop for hikers and bikers.
Vibe Score: 4/5

DOG FRIENDLY DETAILS:
Colorado never disappoints for dog lovers, and New Terrain follows suit. Pups were present both inside the taproom and on the patio. Friendly staff, a welcoming vibe, and mountain views make this a perfect spot for dog parents to enjoy a craft beer with their four-legged friends.

Score: 5/5
