This brewery had me at “hello.” From the moment we spotted it while driving into Silverthorne, I knew it was going to be a highlight of the trip. Situated along Georgetown Lake at the base of the Colorado mountains, Cabin Creek Brewing easily earns a top spot on my list for most scenic breweries ever.
Between the lake views, the mountain backdrop, and some unexpected hometown pride (yes, I spotted Minnesota hockey gear on display!), I was sold.
Founded by locals who literally built the place with their own hands, Cabin Creek brings together Western grit and small-town charm. You can tell this place was built into the land, not just on it. It’s the kind of place you want to sit back, stay awhile, and let time slip away.
WHAT'S ON TAP?

The featured sour on tap during our visit was the “Smooth Jazzberry.” And although it wasn’t actually brewed at Cabin Creek it came from Crooked Stave Brewing out of Denver, it still fit in.
This one reminded me a bit of Jamberry from MetroNOME in St. Paul, the same fruity, tartness, and fun without being too much. I may have had more than one (for research purposes, of course). It’s a sour that is the perfect balance of tartness and flavor, and it stood out as one of my favorites from our Colorado brewery tour.

Sour Score: 3.5/5
FOOD FINDS
We didn’t order food here, something we immediately regretted after seeing the plates come out of the kitchen. Cabin Creek’s scratch kitchen serves pub classics like wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and smoked meats, and everything smelled (and looked) incredible.
I’ll definitely come hungry next time.
Food Score: 3/5 (unofficial, based on menu + what I could drool over)

THE VIBE INSIDE & OUT
This is where Cabin Creek shines. The setting is pure magic - lake views, mountain air, and a lodge-style taproom that feels cozy and still modern. The interior is full of warm wood accents, lots of natural light, and a turf-lined upper patio perfect for soaking in the view.
When we visited, there was live music playing, adding to the laid-back, mountain-town energy. Between the lake, locals, and good beer, it was true brewery bliss.
Vibe Score: 5/5

DOG FRIENDLY DETAILS:
While dogs weren’t allowed inside during our visit, the patio made up for it. It’s spacious, shaded, and offers some of the best lakefront seating you’ll find at a brewery.
If you’re traveling with your pup, this is a great place to grab a spot outside and enjoy the view, just be sure to have a blanket handy if the cool mountain breeze picks up.
Score: 2/5

TAPPED IN TAKEAWAY

If I could bottle this place up and take it home, I would. The views are unreal, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the beer hits the mark.
Cabin Creek Brewing was easily my favorite stop on the Colorado brewery tour. Between the scenery, the vibes, live music and those unexpected Minnesota touches, it’s a brewery that makes you forget the clock and stay just a little longer.
Overall Score: 4.5/5
