Unmapped Brewing Company, Minnetonka, MN

Entrance to Unmapped Brewing Co. in Minnetonka, MN

Unmapped Brewing Company is located in the Glen Lake area of Minnetonka, MN is part brewery, part coffee joint—thanks to its on-site coffee bar, Base Camp Coffee, that opens at 8 AM. The dual setup means you can swing in early for espresso and later for a craft beer without leaving the same comfy space.

This spot is big and open, with plenty of seating and separate areas perfect for bigger groups—you’re able to reserve space for 10+ if you’ve got something planned (great for grown-up birthdays or trivia teams). Bonus points? I spotted two dogs chilling by the door on my visit—always a plus in my book.

Drinks:

Pint of Pineapple Tangerine sour
Breweries with more than one sour option always have a leg up for me. Variety matters, and having at least two quality sours puts Unmapped ahead of many others. On two recent visits I tried:

Taps and Menu at Unmapped
Orange Dream is a fruit sour and turned out to be what you might imagine it to be, somewhat reminiscent of the old-school orange creamsicle that I ate as a kid. This one was my least favorite of the options I’ve had. Orange is definitely not one of my favorite flavors out there, but since it was on the menu, I had to give it a go.

The Pineapple Tangerine, another Fruited Sour, was the middle child of the 3, a little lacking in the fruitiness in my opinion. Could be that it was a bit more citrus forward, and that’s not always what I’m in the mood for.

Cranberry Gose
Surprisingly, my favorite was the Cranberry Sour Eclipse, a sour gose. It’s got a bit of a salty flavor to it, but tasty and for sure one that I would have again.

Food:

While there’s no in-house kitchen, the brewery keeps things interesting with a solid rotation of food trucks and partnerships with local favorites like Tonka Pizza, Del Sur, and Heather’s in Minnetonka. Their website offers updated menus and schedules, making it easy to plan your visit. I’ve stopped by a couple of times mid-day and haven’t caught the food yet—but with a strong beer list and reliable food options, it earns a solid rating in my book.

Dog Friendliness:

YES! You already know this is my favorite part—Unmapped is fully dog-friendly, inside and out. Leashed and well-behaved pups are always welcome - rain or shine.

They’ve even hosted dog-focused events like pet-friendly happy hours and rescue meet-ups. It’s the kind of place where just being surrounded by dogs makes your day.

Atmosphere:

Unmapped branded paddle board
Unmapped Brewing Company seems to be a neighborhood favorite for good reason. The space is open, inviting, and lively—comfortable whether you're flying solo, catching up with a couple friends, or hanging out with a larger group. There's a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in.

They host a steady stream of community-focused events, from Trivia Mondays to creative workshops like pottery painting, flower arranging, and cookie decorating, making it more than just a place to grab a drink. In the evenings, the brewery comes alive with the hum of conversation and laughter—a genuine community vibe that feels both relaxed and energized.

What really stands out is how effortlessly it blends quality beer with a sense of place. The tap list leans toward a variety of styles— lagers, balanced IPAs, and the occasional seasonal surprise. Whether you’re a casual sipper or a craft beer enthusiast as I've become, there’s likely something you’ll enjoy.

It’s clear Unmapped isn’t just a brewery—it’s a gathering spot that’s found its rhythm in the heart of the community.

Merch & More:

Unmapped merch
The coffee shop side is legit—a full menu of espresso, lattes, teas, pastries, and slushies for the non-beer hours. It’s a cozy spot to start your day or unwind in the afternoon. They've got their own line-up of merch as well, so you can rep both sides!

The beer merch is well done, with a solid selection of brewery gear like t-shirts, hats, glassware, and even dog bandanas—making it easy to rep your visit in style.

Overall:

Unmapped Brewing is a local gem. It checks off all my must-haves: sour options, dog-friendly vibes inside and out, a decent event calendar for those who are into that. It’s nice that it has a sweet morning-to-evening coffee-to-craft-beer concept. It’s not walking-distance for me, but with good events or live music, I’d happily make the drive.

If you’re in Minnetonka or nearby, definitely check them out—whether you’re looking for a local espresso, sour, or place to hang with your pup.
