Sometimes you just need to get out of the hotel, and when you're in an unfamiliar area, the combination of food and a craft sour at a local brewery is a no-brainer. That’s how we stumbled into Third Space Brewing’s Innovation Brewhouse in Menomonee Falls, WI—and it turned out to be a surprisingly fun and satisfying stop.
This location is not their main spot in Milwaukee’s historic Menomonee Valley, but rather their newer R&D (research & development) taproom, built to test new flavors, come up with unique collaborations, and try interesting small-batch experiments. If you’re into trying something before it hits the main production line, this place is worth a stop.

Drinks:
Third Space’s Innovation Brewhouse definitely lived up to its name with a couple of creative sours on tap—always a welcome sight for me.

I tried the FROG Weiss, a fig, raspberry, orange, and ginger Berliner Weisse inspired by a jam the brewing team tasted at a beer conference (kinda cool, ey?). I was a little hesitant about the fig and ginger combo, but it worked surprisingly well—balanced, subtle, and smooth.

I also gave the Lavender Lemonade Sour a go. The lavender wasn’t overpowering (thankfully) and the lemon brought a nice summery feel. Both were enjoyable, just not quite bold enough to land a long-lasting impression. Still, they get kudos for the creativity.

Sour Score: 3/5 – Well-crafted and unique, but I was hoping for more flavor punch.

Food:
This is where they really nailed it. We ordered a full spread—house-made onion dip, Bavarian pretzel, a juicy burger, and a grown-up grilled cheese that absolutely hit the spot.

The kitchen clearly cares about the details, and everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious.

It’s still a brewery, not fine dining, but for a tasty dinner with the family or friends? 100% recommend.
Food Score: 3.5/5 – Great mix of bar food with a unique, freshly made options

Dog Friendliness:
We didn’t spot any pups during our visit, and given that this is a full-service taproom with a kitchen, it’s likely that dogs are patio-only at best. Unfortunately, their site didn’t offer much clarity, and there were no indicators of dog water bowls or pooches welcome signage.
If you’re planning to bring your dog, I’d call ahead to see if the outdoor patio is a go.
Dog Score: 0/5 – No confirmed signs of being dog-friendly, which always loses points in my book.

Atmosphere:

This is where Innovation Brewhouse really shines. The outdoor space is a solid hang—with plenty of seating, bags (a.k.a. cornhole) to keep the kids entertained, and even a firepit table for those cooler evenings.
We happened to visit on a live music night, and the artist was fantastic. His name is Julien Kozak if you have a chance to see him, or check him out online at julienkozak.com and invite him to play at your local venue! I’d actually love to see him again at a venue closer to home.

Even with kids along, it felt like a relaxing, fun evening out. If you’re looking for a brewery that caters to a full crew—grownups, kids, casual music lovers—this checks all the boxes.
Atmosphere Score: 4/5 – Loved the vibe, especially with the live tunes and yard games.

Merch & More:
Their merch setup was well-stocked and well-designed. Tees, hats, glassware—you name it. I didn’t buy anything this time, but I definitely would if I return.

They also host a variety of events and live performances, though their website layout makes it a bit tricky to tell which events are at which location.
Still, if you’re local or making weekend plans, keep an eye on their socials or call ahead to see what’s on deck.
Merch Score: 4/5 – Solid merch and events lineup, but their online calendar could use some assistance.

Overall:
Third Space Innovation Brewhouse was the kind of stop you didn’t know you needed. It filled the gap between “we’re bored” and “we’re hungry” perfectly—and delivered on both food and atmosphere. It’s a modern space that still feels welcoming, and while the drinks weren’t my personal favorite this time, the overall experience was more than enough to make me want to go back.

If you’re in the Menomonee Falls area or just exploring greater Milwaukee, this spot makes for a laid-back, crowd-pleasing evening.
Overall Score: 4/5
